November 2, 2008When someone speaks about Germany, we usually think of the Nazis and their not so good activities during world war. But then, Germany actually an interesting country and it offers many splendid places that a tourist can go to. I looked around the net this morning and found this awesome castle. Well, being a fan of princes and princesses, the Neuschwanstein Castle really caught my attention.
Neuschwanstein Castle was King Ludwig II’s castle. It is seated on a hill with a spectacular backdrop of Alps. It is one of the most visited tourist spots in Germany.
Another important historical site that Germany has to offer is the Brandenburg Gate. This used to be a city gate and Berlin’s signature attraction. When Berlin Wall fell in 1989, many Germans celebrated the reunification of east and west Germany.
A tourist can also take a visit to Cologne Cathedral. What is so interesting about this cathedral? Aside from its magnificient Gothic architecture, it is said that the cathedral’s most sacred treasure and an important relic that can be found in the western world, is the Shrine of the Three Magi. There is a magnificent gilded sarcophagus thought to hold the remains of the Three Wise Men.
